Body Found in Southwest Area Park

Autopsy pending on decomposed remains to determine identity and cause of death.

A badly decomposed body was found Feb. 1 in a remote section of Southwest Area Park in Baltimore Highlands, according to police officials.

Police were notified about the body around 1:10 p.m. by people walking through the park, located on the 3900-block of Park Drive.

There were no obvious signs of foul play, according to police spokesperson Det. Cathleen Batton.

Due to the state of decomposition, police officials were unable to provide any information about the sex or general description of the body.

The body was transported to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy for positive identification and determination of the cause of death, Batton said.
