Aug. 28 12:28 p.m. update: Power is out in areas of Paradise, Violetville and other parts of southwest Baltimore County. Many traffic signals and street lights are also out, making driving even more dangerous.

Current conditions from RelayWeather.com: 70 degrees, winds from the NNE at 21 mph with gusts up to 44 mph, barometric pressure is 29.25 and falling rapidly. About 2.13 inches has fallen in this corner of Baltimore County since hurricane Irene began.

Aug. 27 7:30 p.m. The rain is coming down steady and hard in Arbutus and environs. Water is puddling in the streets, but so far the Patapsco River at Hammonds Ferry Lane is not flooding.
