This Day in History
On this day in 1885, Louis Pasteur first tested his rabies vaccine on nine-year-old Joseph Meister, who had been bitten by a rabid dog. As an adult, Meister worked as a caretaker at Pasteur Instiute. At age 64 in June of 1940, he committed suicide during the Nazi occupation of Paris.
