New Owner for Sulphur Spring Inn
Arbutus landmark to reopen as DePaola's Pub & Grill by Feb. 1.

Many residents mourned the closing of the , which had been a downtown Arbutus landmark for years.
A new owner has stepped up to reopen the establishment, and by Feb. 1 will be serving food and liquid refreshments under the banner of DePaola's Pub & Grill.
"We're pretty excited," says Andy DePaola of Sparks, who owns a roofing company and has previously operated two other restaurant/bars.

DePaola says that he is developing a menu of "good food" for meals and catering, and plans to make moderate cosmetic updates to the decor.
"I just want to get it open," he says.

From 2007 until 20-11 the bar was owned by Kathy and John Miller. The location has been known as the Sulphur Spring Inn for at least 30 years. According to locals, it was Lissau's Restaurant until the 1970s.
Previously, DePaola owned the Colonial restaurant at Eastern and Washington Avenue in Fell's Point, and Breadmans Pub at Foster and Curley in Canton.
