Police Blotter: Burglaries in the Area

The following information is provided by Baltimore County Police Department.

Jan. 10: At some time since Jan. 6, an unknown person used a large rock to shatter the rear door window and storm door screen of a vacant residence on the 100-block of Fourth Avenue in Lansdowne. The rear door was left partially open, but it is unknown whether the residence was entered. Nothing was taken or distrurbed inside the residence.

Jan. 10: At around 10:58 p.m., a suspect took eight rolls of copper wire valued at $1,500 by throwing it over the fence of a company on the 1900-block of Brady Avenue in Halethorpe. While the suspect was attempting to load the copper into a vehicle, he was observed by a witness and fled without taking the copper. The suspect was described as a white male in his 50s, about 180 lbs, with brown shoulder-length hair, who wore blue jeans and a dark jacket. The copper wire was recovered and returned to the company.

Jan. 11: At some time since 8:30 p.m. the previous evening, an unknown person entered the front yard of a residence on the 5000-block of Oregon Drive in Arbutus and took wicker furniture off the front porch.

Jan. 11: At around 11:30 a.m., an unknown black male suspect forced open the garage door at a residence on the 3000-block of Ryerson Circle in Riverview and attempted to steal a dirtbike. The suspect ran off towards Hollins Ferry Road when confronted by the son of the dirtbike owner.

Jan. 13: At some time since 4 p.m. the previous afternoon, an unknown person attempted to gain entry to a residence on he 4600-block of Poplar Avenue in Halethorpe through the front door. Items were recovered in the rear of the residence, and nothing was taken. The door handle was broken, with a value of $40.

Jan. 13: At some time since 6:30 p.m. the previous evening, an unknown person entered the lot of a business on the 4200-block of Annapolis Road in Baltimore Highlands and took scrap metal.

Jan. 15: At some time between 10:40 p.m. and 11:40 p.m., an unknown person entered a fenced-in lot of a business on the 1400-block of Knecht Avenue in Arbutus, smashed the passenger windows of two vehicles and took hand tools, a DeWalt radio and a GPS device, then fled in an unknown direction.
