It was a day to remember--an unthinkable surprise attack out of the blue, by planes used as weapons. Flame and smoke filled the air. The nation was drawn into a new conflict.
It was, President Roosevelt said, "a date which will live in infamy," much the way 9/11 still resonates deeply today.
Yet on this Dec. 7th, seven decades later, one hardly sees any remembrance or dicussion of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
