RIverview Man Gets 12 Years for Odenton Shooting

A Riverview man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for shooting three people outside an Odenton bar last Nov. 27.
James Edward James, 24, of the 3100-block of Bero Road, entered an Alford plea to charges of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and use of a handgun in a crime of violence.
According to Anne Arundel County Police, James had an altercation with other patrons of My Place Bar and Lounge on the 1600-block of Annapolis Road in Odenton.

When officers responded to the rear parking lot of the bar, they found one victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his head, back and abdomen. Two additional shooting victims were inside the bar.
According to Hometown Annapolis, Jones was sentenced by a Circuit Court hudge to 25 years in prison, with all but 12 years suspended. Jones must serve a mandatory five years in prison for use of a handgun in a crime of violence.
