Sunset for Arbutus Tanning Salon

Jamaican Me Tan salon, which has operated at 5201 East Drive across from the former Superfresh for more than a dozen years, shut its doors on Jan. 18.

"Due to circumstances beyond my control, I've made the painful decision to close Jamaican Me tan, effective today," owner Kimberly Thomas said in an email to customers and posted to the front door of the darkened business.

Thomas told customers that , located at 1520 Sulphur Spring Road, will honor all of Jamaican Me Tan's memberships and account.

When contacted by Arbutus Patch, Thomas declined to comment for this story.
