Vandals Strike Arbutus Neighborhood

Eight cars were tagged and two had the windows smashed during the Feb. 22 spree.

 

Vandals left a path of damage during a spree of spray-painting and smashing car windows in an Arbutus neighborhood early on the morning of Feb. 22, authorities said.

According to police, eight vehicles along Elm Ridge Avenue were tagged with green spray paint and two had windows broken out. Also tagged with the same "AMG" in a cursive-like style were garage doors, two fences and an ATM drive-through window, according to police.

"We haven't seen a lot of that around here," said Lt. Nancy Stork, deputy commander of . "That's unusual for this area."

Police sources said the vandalism is likely an isolated incident and does not indicate gang activity.

The graffiti and damaged vehicles were photographed for evidence, according to police.
