Wynnewood Couple Celebrates 60th Anniversary

"Marriage is an institution," quipped H.L. Mencken. "But who wants to live in an institution?"

Ask Lucille and John Roth Sr., of Wynnewood, who celebrate their 60th anniversary on Sept. 15.

John, who graduated from Catonsville High in 1945, was asked to the senior prom by neighbor Lucille, who was in Southern High School's class of 1950.

"She asked me to the prom, and that was it," he said. "I married the girl next door."

Congratulations to the Roths and wishing them many more years of matrimonial bliss.
