4 Injured In MD Medical Helicopter Crash

Four people — including an infant — were aboard the medical helicopter, which is based out of Maryland and was called to Pennsylvania.

The helicopter crashed just outside the Drexel Hill United Methodist Church in Upper Darby Township, Pa. First responders arrived at the scene about 1:10 p.m. The occupants were able to leave the wreckage without assistance.

BALTIMORE, MD — A medical helicopter based in Maryland that was on its way from a Chambersburg, Pa., hospital to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia crash-landed in the suburb of Drexel Hill, authorities said Tuesday.

All four passengers, including a 2-month-old girl, a nurse, the pilot and a crew member, suffered non-life threatening injuries after the helicopter went down for a hard landing just outside the Drexel Hill United Methodist Church church in the 600 block of Burmont Road, according to police and firefighters in Upper Darby Township.
