Alzheimer's Association hosts dementia forum on November 9

The Pythias A. and Virginia I. Jones African American Community Forum on Memory Loss marks 20th year

Family caregivers of people living with dementia can access information and resources at the Alzheimer's Association's Pythias A. and Virginia I. Jones African American Community Forum on Memory Loss. The free annual event marks its 20-year anniversary on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Morgan State University, 1700East Cold Spring Lane, Baltimore, MD 21251.

"Navigating to reliable information and support services can be challenging for family caregivers and the forum offers needed resources under one roof," says Marlyn Massey, diversity and inclusion program manager.

Dementia prevalence in the African American community and steps to lower the risk are presented by keynote speaker Lisa Barnes, Ph.D., from Alla V. and Solomon Jesmer Professor of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine, Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center at Rush University Medical Center
