TO KENNEDY KRIEGER’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
BALTIMORE, May 6, 2025 – Kennedy Krieger Institute, an internationally renowned organization with the mission of improving the lives of children, adolescents and adults with disorders and injuries of the nervous system, welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors. Amy Solomon and Melissa Trovato, MD, both esteemed professionals with connections to the Institute joined the board.

“We were delighted to welcome Amy and Dr. Trovato to the board,” said Dr. Brad Schlaggar, MD, PhD, President and CEO of Kennedy Krieger. "Their service says a lot about their commitment to our community—they know us and our mission and chose to do more to support both.”
Amy Solomon serves as vice president of relationship development at Hartman Executive Advisors, where she builds strategic partnerships with C-level executives in healthcare, human services, and nonprofit organizations. She previously founded Peak Performance Healthcare Solutions, a firm specializing in strategic planning, marketing and business development. With experience in senior roles at Adfinitas Health and Quest Diagnostics, driving revenue growth and services expansion. She is also an active board member for several organizations, including Northwest Hospital LifeBridge Health and Kennedy Krieger’s Early Childhood Development and Education Center (formerly PACT), for which she serves as the board chair. Solomon received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Old Dominion University.

Melissa Trovato, MD is the director of rehabilitation and outpatient medical services at Kennedy Krieger Institute and associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. A board-certified specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation with a subspecialty in pediatric rehabilitation medicine, Dr. Trovato is a leader in advancing care for children and adults with neurological disorders related to developmental disabilities. She is actively involved in national medical organizations, including the American Association of Physiatrists, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology. Dr. Trovato earned a bachelor’s from Salem College and her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Sinai Hospital-Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, followed by a pediatric rehabilitation fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
