Baltimore Man Carjacked Driver He Found On Social Media: Police

Treverrick Jamal Robinson, 24, of Baltimore has been charged with armed carjacking, according to Maryland State Police.

BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore man accused of carjacking a driver he found on social media is behind bars, Maryland State Police announced Tuesday.

Treverrick Jamal Robinson, 24, of Baltimore has been charged with armed carjacking, police said.

Maryland State Police and U.S. Marshals arrested Robinson on Friday in the 6800 block of Sturbridge Drive in Baltimore, authorities said.

According to investigators, Robinson ordered a ride on social media on Aug. 1. When the driver arrived, he used a handgun to carjack the driver.

Police did not reveal a motive for the carjacking or what tips led to Robinson's arrest.

It was not immediately clear if the driver suffered any injuries.

After being taken into handcuffs, Robinson was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility in Baltimore for processing.
