BALTIMORE, MD — With a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens battled Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC championship on Sunday but were denied a trip to the big game in Las Vegas. The game ended 17-10.
Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh told CBS: "I love these guys, everything they gave, every bead of sweat. Congratulations to the Chiefs, they won the game, but that doesn’t take anything away from what they (the Ravens) did.”

Jackson told reporters after the game that he was angry that he couldn't bring home a win and a Super Bowl trip.
"We're going to build, this offseason, get better, grind and try to be in this position again, but on the other side," Jackson said.

The first half ended 17-7 with the Chiefs in the lead as superfan Taylor Swift arrived in Charm City to cheer on Travis Kelce and teammates.
Neither team scored in the third quarter, but with 2:38 left in the game, the Ravens’ kicker Justin Tucker made a field goal to make the score 17-10 in the Chiefs' favor.
Baltimore broke out of a scoreless stalemate in the third quartervwith a 53-yard pass from Jackson to Flowers, but after his catch Flowers was called for taunting, giving 15 yards back. But as Flowers dove into the endzone, he lost control of the ball and turned it over to the Chiefs, giving up a scoring opportunity.
A fierce Ravens defense forced KC to punt the ball, with a Chiefs player stopping it on the one-yard line. On fourth and three, Jackson rifled a throw to Odell Beckham Jr. to get the first down and sustain the drive with less than 10 minutes in the fourth quarter. Deon Bush of the Chiefs intercepted a Jackson throw for the third turnover by the Ravens, and the second in the end zone, CBS Sports said.
The Ravens were the No. 1 seed in the AFC and cruised in their first postseason game, beating the Texans 34-10 last weekend. The Chiefs — the No. 3 seed — are playing in the AFC championship game for a sixth straight season.
The Chiefs marched down the field on their opening drive, with tight end Travis Kelce hauling in a touchdown against defender Kyle Hamilton to make it 7-0.
When they regained the ball Jackson, ran 21 yards for a crucial first down that got Baltimore to the Chiefs 45 yard line. Shortly after Jackson threw a 30-yard touchdown bomb to Zay Flowers.
In the second quarter the Chiefs scored first, with tight end Kelce running back Isaiah Pacheco, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes all running the ball to make the score 14-7 Kansas City.
As Baltimore moved toward Chiefs territory, the ball was stripped from Jackson, giving KC possession of the fumble. But the Ravens defense held tough, preventing Kelce from gaining a critical first down and giving Baltimore possession. Jackson followed that with a tipped pass that caught himself, wowing the crowd.
The Ravens were forced to punt on fourth down, but the Chiefs had a failed drive and punted back to Baltimore, who failed to score. Kansas City got the ball back with 1:52 minutes left in the first half.
Two 15-yard penalties against the Ravens gave KC. Back to back holding calls negated the momentum for Mahomes and his receivers, and wiped out a touchdown. The Chiefs added a field goal to end the first half with a 17-7 lead.
The Chiefs will face the winner of the NFC championship game (Lions at 49ers) in Super Bowl 58 on Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
