Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Jaylon Ferguson Dead At 26

In a statement, the Baltimore Ravens​ said they were "profoundly saddened" by Jaylon Ferguson's sudden death.

BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson has died, his team confirmed Wednesday. He was 26 years old.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, Tuesday around 11:25 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 400 block of Ilchester Avenue for a report of a "questionable death."

Once there, officers said they found Ferguson unresponsive and being treated by medics.

"Ferguson never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead on the scene by medics. No signs of trauma was found or foul play suspected at this time," the police department said in an email to Patch.

Police said Ferguson's body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office, where a cause of death will be determined.

Following Ferguson's death, the Baltimore Ravens issued this statement:

We are profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson.
He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and infectious personality.
We express our heartfelt condolences to Jaylon's family and friends as we mourn a life lost much too soon.

Ferguson played 38 games with the Ravens, including 10 starts, and recorded 67 tackles and 4.5 sacks over three seasons, according to NFL.com.

He is survived by three young children, ESPN reported.

Ferguson played college football at Louisiana Tech and was a third-round pick by the Ravens in 2019, ESPN said. He participated in all of the Ravens offseason practices this year, dropping a significant amount of weight.
