Snow Ends, Wind Gusts Top 30 MPH: MD Forecast

MARYLAND — Slushy snowfall wrapped up Monday morning, but colder temperatures will linger this week with strong winds buffeting Maryland as the week begins, according to the National Weather Service's forecast. Schools in both Harford and Prince George's counties started two hours late because of slick roads.

Wind gusts as high as 31 mph are predicted on Monday, but skies will be clear throughout the week.

"Except for the mountains, skies will become sunny today. It will be much cooler however, with afternoon highs only 35-45 for most, and chilly winds gusting 30 mph," the NWS said Monday morning. "Chilly, but less wind Tuesday."

A hazardous weather outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia through Monday night.

The outlook includes Cecil, Baltimore, Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Marys, Calvert, Montgomery, Howard and Harford counties.
