This MD Hospital Listed Among America's Greatest In New List

MARYLAND — One hospital in Maryland is among 100 of the best in the country, according to a new national report.

The “Great Hospitals in America” list from the Chicago-based niche media company Becker’s Healthcare, includes many of the same hospitals as rankings of U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, The Leapfrog Group and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

“These hospitals are widely recognized for their clinical excellence, commitment to patient safety, innovative initiatives, research efforts, education and high levels of patient satisfaction,” the company said.

Becker’s said the list of 100 hospitals is not exhaustive and is not an endorsement of the included hospitals. Hospitals submitted nominations and Becker’s editorial team conducted research.

From Maryland, the healthcare facility that made the list was Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

“Johns Hopkins Hospital is internationally recognized for its groundbreaking research and high-quality patient care,” Becker’s states. “It consistently ranks among the top hospitals in the U.S. according to U.S. News & World Report, especially in neurology, psychiatry and surgery.”
