This MD Hotel Was Awarded A Coveted Michelin Rating
Inspectors awarded 7,000 global hotels a Michelin key rating, including one in Maryland.
The Michelin Guide, globally recognized for its restaurant ratings and star selections, has broadened its scope to include hotels and recently awarded nearly 2,500 a coveted Michelin Key. One Maryland hotel recently earned a coveted Michelin designation.
Similar to how Stars identify the world's best culinary experiences, the Michelin Keys spotlight exceptional stays from the guide's selection of over 7,500 hotels. Michelin Guide inspectors meticulously assess each hotel based on five universal criteria, evaluating the entire hospitality experience beyond individual amenities. This establishes a new and independent global benchmark for excellence in lodging, according to Michelin.
“With the introduction of the Michelin Keys, the Guide establishes a new, global, and independent benchmark for outstanding hotel experiences,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The Michelin Guide. “With their unique field expertise, Michelin Guide Inspectors have selected the finest properties from across the globe, reflecting the diversity and excellence of today’s hospitality landscape."

- Baltimore: The Ivy Hotel, 205 E Biddle St., Mount Vernon
Here's what the hotel says about its amenities: "Although distinctly Baltimorean in its red-brick beauty, the Ivy Hotel serves up a brand of luxury hospitality that’ll be familiar to travelers the world over. This restored 19th-century mansion is set in Mount Vernon, just to the north of the Inner Harbor, and is one of just a few Black-owned boutique hotels in America. Its rooms are outfitted with lush fabrics, four-poster beds, and gas fireplaces, and its bathrooms feature heated limestone floors and, in some cases, soaking tubs. There’s a small-but-lovely spa, a verdant courtyard for breakfast, afternoon tea, or drinks, and a highly regarded local restaurant, Magdalena, helmed by chef Ülfet Ralph."
