Snow To Fall In Parts Of MD, Winter Weather Advisory Issued
A nor'easter is forecast to form as a weather system moves through. Its path has now prompted a winter weather advisory for some MD areas.
UPDATED at 4:40 p.m. Monday
MARYLAND — While neighboring states north of Maryland are expected to get up to a foot of snow by Tuesday night, an inch or two should be all Maryland seems early in the morning, an updated forecast says.
Initial forecasts Monday morning called only for rain and a few snowflakes in most of the state, but by 3 p.m. the forecast was calling for measurable snow for several counties. A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service's Baltimore/Washington D.C. office for all or parts of Baltimore, Howard, Carroll, Montgomery and Harford counties, plus the city of Frederick.

"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute," the NWS said.
Snow will be heavy at times, with rates of around 1/2 to 1 inch per hour through mid-morning Tuesday. Visibility may be reduced to less than one half mile at times.
No winter weather advisory has been issued for Anne Arundel, Montgomery or Prince George's counties.
Early Monday, the NWS said the Baltimore-DC region should only get a few snowflakes mixed into a steady rain as a nor'easter hits New York and New England.
Much of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and parts of New York are under winter storm warnings, the National Weather Service said.
A hazardous weather outlook is also in place for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia, the agency said.
"A soaking rain may lead to a few isolated instances of minor flooding overnight," the NWS said.
