'Let’s Go O’s': Fans Confident Orioles Will Play In World Series: Goucher College Poll
The Baltimore Orioles face the Texas Rangers for a berth in the World Series. Most fans polled believe the O's will win it all.

BALTIMORE, MD — The American League East champion Baltimore Orioles begin a series Saturday with the Texas Rangers for a berth in the World Series. A majority of Baltimore City fans are optimistic that their hometown team will reach the World Series this year, a new Goucher College Poll said.
- 53 percent of voters say they’ve paid “some” or “a lot” of attention to the Orioles this season, and 45 percent say they’ve paid only “a little” attention or “none.”
- Nearly three-quarters (72 percent) of voters are “somewhat” or “very” optimistic that the Orioles will make it to the World Series, and 17 percent are “a little” or “not at all” optimistic.
The Orioles will host the Rangers in games 1 and 2 of the series at Camden Yards on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 1:03 p.m. ET, and Sunday, Oct. 8, at 4:07 p.m. ET. Both games will air on FS1, Fox Baltimore said.
After a travel day on Monday, Game 3 of the series is set for Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, with first pitch set for 8:03 p.m. ET on FOX. If necessary, Game 4 would be on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Texas, and Game 5 would be on Friday, Oct.13, in Baltimore. Both games would air either on FOX or FS1.

When it comes to John Angelos, 37 percent approve of the job he’s doing as Orioles chairman and CEO, 29 percent disapprove, and 32 percent say they don’t know.
“Following a magical seven months where the Orioles won more than 100 games during the regular season and captured the American League East, Baltimore City voters express optimism that their hometown team will make it to the World Series,” said Mileah Kromer, director of the Sarah T. Hughes Center for Politics and new season ticket holder. “It’s an exciting time to be a Baltimorean. Let’s go O’s.”

The Goucher College Poll, in partnership with The Baltimore Banner, was conducted from Sept. 19 to 23, 2023. It surveyed 711 Baltimore City registered voters (MOE=+/-3.7%). Voters were asked their opinions about the Baltimore Orioles and Orioles Chairman and CEO John Angelos.
