BALTIMORE, MD — Early Voting, ridden by Jockey Jose Ortiz and trained by Chad Brown, won the 147th Preakness Stakes in a nail biting two minute race. Epicenter and Creative Minister followed close behind but were ultimately outpaced by Early Voting.
There is no Triple Crown winner this year as Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike sat the race out to focus on riding in the Belmont Stakes in only three weeks time. The stakes winner will be taking home a hefty $1.5 million purse and increased odds to win the final race at Belmont Park.
While horse racing may be the main event at Pimlico Race Course, fashion took front center as per usual. Guests in attendance wore unique fascinators and sipped black eyed Susan cocktails, marking another memorable Preakness Stakes for the books.
