PHOTOS: Key Bridge Collapses After Ship Strike, Search For Survivors
Early Tuesday morning a cargo ship crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. Rescuers search for survivors in the harbor.

BALTIMORE, MD — Early Tuesday morning, a cargo ship lost power and rammed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. Rescuers are currently searching for six road workers who are missing; they were on the highway patching concrate.
Shortly after the ship made contact with one of the bridge's pillars, the main section of the structure fell into the Patapsco River. Several cars on the bridge fell into the icy waters below. Two survivors have been rescued.
As rescuers and officials work to clear up the collapse, a timeline for rebuilding the bridge has yet to be announced. The bridge destruction is sure impact traffic for the next few years in the Baltimore and Washington area.

Federal, state and local officials pledged Tuesday to move quickly to reopen the busy shipping port, which is closed to all traffic now, but warned the rebuilding process will be long.
