After Girl Fatally Shot In Group, Teen Charged: Baltimore Police
A 16-year-old has been charged with murder in the death of Ja'Nyi Weeden, police reported.

BALTIMORE, MD — Police said a boy has been charged with murder in the death of a girl over the summer in Baltimore. He was not identified because he is a juvenile.
Ja’Nyi Weeden, 15, had been "in the presence of several people" in southwest Baltimore when she was shot around 12:55 a.m. on Aug. 10, police said. She was in the 3700 block of Gelston Drive, according to authorities, who offered a reward for information in the case.
Weeden, who had been shot multiple times, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced deceased that afternoon, officials said.

A 16-year-old boy was formally charged with first-degree murder in Weeden's death on Friday, the Baltimore Police Department reported Monday, Oct. 18.
