How MD, DC Airports Rank Among 'Best' In North America
Traveling can be chaotic; see where Baltimore-DC area airports rank among North America's top large airports for customer satisfaction.
BALTIMORE, MD — Three airports serving the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., metros were just scored in JD Power's 2024 North American Airport Satisfaction Survey.
The "large airport" category includes airports that see between 10 and 32.9 million passengers per year — it includes Maryland's main airport and two serving DC-Northern Virginia.
According to the survey, John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, is the best large airport in the nation, thanks to its ease of use and terminal facilities, while Tampa International Airport ranks second. Also ranked in the category are Kansas City International Airport, which ranked No. 3, and Dallas Love Field, which ranked No. 4.

Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport ranked No. 14 among large airports.
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport ranked No. 16 in the same category, while Washington Dulles International Airport placed No. 21.

The survey ranked the airports based on customer satisfaction scores that factor in ease of travel, level of trust, terminal facilities, airport staff and more.
