100-Second Grocery Sweep At Klein's In Bel Air Celebrates Store's 100th Anniversary
Klein's Family Markets will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year in a variety of ways, including with a 100-second grocery sweep.
BEL AIR, MD — To celebrate Klein's Family Markets' 100th anniversary, there will be a grocery sweep April 10 where one lucky shopper will have 100 seconds to grab everything they can. There also will be a $1,000 gift card given to a shopper that same day.
The family-owned grocery store hosted a successful grocery sweep in December 2024. The April sweep has a contest entry deadline of April 4 at 5 p.m. The April 10 sweep will be at 11 a.m. at Klein's ShopRite of Festival, 5 Bel Air S. Parkway.
“We had a great time at our first grocery sweep in December,” said David Klein, Klein’s vice president of marketing and procurement. “It was very successful, and we can’t wait to watch our second lucky winner run.”

All throughout 2025, Klein's Family Markets will celebrate its 100th anniversary. With six stores in Harford County, shoppers can look forward to in-store incentives, sweepstakes and more for their year-long celebration.
The April grocery sweep will benefit The Harford Community Action Agency, a nonprofit dedicated to providing assistance to help all Harford County individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardships in meeting their housing, food, energy/heating and/or budget and family counseling needs.

What To Know About History Of Klein's Family Markets
Klein’s Family Markets has six stores in Harford County, two in Baltimore County and one in Baltimore City. In 1925, Maurice and Sara Klein opened a small general store on Main Street in rural Fallston. In 1949, Maurice, Sara and their son, Ralph, purchased a general store at the old village crossroads in Forest Hill, starting their family business as “Maurice Klein and Son.”
Thirty years later, Ralph, his wife, Shirley, and their sons, Andrew, Michael and Howard, relocated Klein’s to a modern supermarket in Forest Hill, according to the family.
In 2008, Klein’s Family Markets joined Wakefern Food Corp., the retail merchandising and distribution company that supplies and supports ShopRite, becoming the 45th member of the nation’s largest retailer-owned cooperative.
