$10K Raised For Humane Society Of Harford County By Businesses

The Deck the Paws fundraiser generated $10,500 this past holiday season for the Humane Society of Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The Deck the Paws holiday fundraiser benefitting the Humane Society of Harford County generated $10,500 during the 2023 holiday season.

Local businesses pool their efforts and challenge each other to host events that raise funds for the humane society, which is spearheaded by Route 24 Ale House and Lean Kitchen in Bel Air, owned by Jason and Katie Davis.

“I want to extend my gratitude not just to Jason and Katie and all the businesses who hosted an event and donated their proceeds, but also to the folks who bought a raffle ticket, dropped their spare change in a donation jar, or bought a ticket to an event,” said Bob Citrullo, HSHC’s executive director. “The number of animals we took in last year went up 22 percent and visits to our pet food pantry went up 54 percent. Thanks to Deck the Paws, we can be there for pets and people in need.”

“The humane society is such an important resource in the community,” added Katie Davis. “Jason and I consider our pets to be family, and we do this every year so that needy animals can get the care and treatment they need to get back on their feet and find loving homes.”

The following businesses participated in the eighth annual Deck the Paws give-back event:
