16-Year-Old Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of 14-Year-Old
A teen suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of another teen. Both boys were JV football teammates and classmates at HDGHS.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A 16-year-old boy from Havre de Grace has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Jai'den Alexander Winchester on Nov. 2.
Around 11:52 a.m. Saturday, Aberdeen police officers were called to the 200 block of Center Deen Avenue for a report of a shooting. They found Winchester unresponsive in the back seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head and in cardiac arrest. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
According to police, Winchester and the suspect were at a Halloween party. The homeowner told everyone to leave their house before shots were fired, the police report stated. Six teens got into a car to leave when Winchester allegedly said something to the suspect who then said, "Stop playing… I'll blow you [up]," according to a police report.

Police tracked down the 16-year-old suspect who has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and various firearms offenses. The teen also is a student at Havre de Grace High School with Winchester and both boys were teammates on the Havre de Grace junior varsity football team. Police said the gun belonged to the suspect's father.
