2 HCC Students Awarded $2,500 Science Scholarships
The Senior Science Society honored Joseph Jaworski and Elise Thompson with college scholarships.

Two Harford Community College science students were recently awarded scholarships from the Senior Science Society.
Joseph Jaworski and Elise Thompson were each presented with a “STEM” Transfer Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 from the Senior Science Society. Jaworski plans to attend Morgan State University to pursue a degree in civil engineering, and Thompson plans to attend UMBC to pursue a degree in biochemistry.
“I was just relieved ” Thompson said of earning the scholarship. “Four out of five members in my family are in college right now…So our financial burden is mounting. To know that we got this scholarship has made such a monumental difference in my first semester here at UMBC. It was amazing. I just can’t say thank you enough.”
