Abingdon Road Rage Arrest Involved Gun: Police
Police said one driver pointed a handgun at another on US 40 in Abingdon.
BEL AIR, MD — A road rage incident in Abingdon led to assault and weapons charges recently, according to police.
Ronald McKnight II, 29, of Pikesville, was charged with first- and second-degree assault; reckless endangerment; having a loaded handgun in his vehicle; having a loaded handgun on a person; and other weapons offenses.
The charges came after another driver reported he pointed a gun at him on US 40, police said.

McKnight had been in a Honda CRV that was stopped on Pulaski Highway/US 40 near Long Bar Harbor Road; and when another driver honked and the car did not move, the driver walked over to check on the CRV driver, who appeared unresponsive, and found McKnight pointing a handgun at him, police said.
The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, according to authorities.

Police said the suspect took off but troopers found him on southbound I-95 south of MD 24.
When McKnight opened his door to get out of the vehicle, troopers said they saw a pistol magazine in the door pocket. McKnight also told officers there was a pistol in the vehicle, police said.
He was released on Thursday, June 30, after posting a $5,000 bond, court records show, and has a preliminary hearing in Harford County District Court on July 28.
That was not the only road rage incident involving a weapon on a Maryland highway this week.
In an unrelated case, the Maryland Transportation Authority Police are investigating a suspected road rage incident that happened in the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel.
Investigators believe the drivers of a Honda sedan and blue Chrysler sedan may have been involved in a shooting in the Harbor Tunnel on I-895 north in Baltimore City. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 1.
