Abingdon Walmart Stabbing: Assault Charge Filed In Constant Friendship

The Abingdon man charged in a stabbing at the Constant Friendship Walmart got into an argument beforehand, according to investigators.

ABINGDON, MD — An Abingdon man was charged with assault after a stabbing in the Constant Friendship Walmart on the Fourth of July, according to authorities.

Josiah Kamara, 21, of the 3800 block of Monument Circle, was charged with first- and second-degree assault and using a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, court records show.

The charges came after officers found a 17-year-old stabbing victim outside an apartment building on Monument Circle, and deputies identified the crime scene as inside the Walmart in the 400 block of Constant Friendship Boulevard, officials said. The two locations are about 0.3 mile apart. The stabbing happened around 4:17 p.m., Cristie Hopkins, spokesperson for the Harford County Sheriff's Office, told Patch.

Deputies began providing aid to the boy, who was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for injuries that officials described as not life-threatening.

Kamara had been involved in an argument with the teen that escalated before he stabbed the boy with a folding knife, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said Kamara, who also lives on Monument Circle, was taken to the Harford County Detention Center after an interview. He is being held without bail, court records show.
