Assistant State's Attorney Named Harford Circuit Court Judge

Elizabeth "Beth" Bowen was appointed judge in Harford County Circuit Court.

Harford County Assistant State's Attorney Melba Elizabeth Bowen was appointed judge in Harford County Circuit Court by Gov. Martin O'Malley Thursday.

Elizabeth "Beth" Bowen will fill the seat Judge Thomas Marshal left vacant when he retired this year, ExploreHarford reported.

Bowen has been a prosecutor with the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office for 29 years, where she has filled the role of supervisor in Circuit Court and District Court, as well as chair of the Board of the Harford County Child Advocacy Center, according to a release from the governor's office.

She graduated from University of Maryland School of Law, according to the release.
