Bank Robbed In Abingdon, Sheriff Says; Reward Offered For Tips

ABINGDON, MD — After a bank was robbed Thursday afternoon in Abingdon, officials have asked for tips to identify the man responsible.

At 4:05 p.m., deputies from the Southern Precinct were called to the M&T Bank near Box Hill Square for a report of an armed robbery, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

A man gave the teller a note implying that he had a weapon and demanded money, then he ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash, officials said.

The robber was wearing a yellow construction-style vest with a dark mask, sunglasses, and dark gloves, officials said. The robber was of medium build, according to investigators.

Nobody was injured in the robbery, according to authorities, who collected forensic evidence from the scene.
