Bel Air Halloween 2021: Trick Or Treating, Events

BEL AIR, MD — Trick or treating starts early on Main Street in Bel Air this year. Businesses will welcome trick or treaters Saturday, Oct. 30.

There are also a host of activities leading up to Halloween in town.

The town of Bel Air has no official Halloween trick-or-treat hours or protocols. As a guide, those who want to participate can turn their lights on to signal they are handing out candy.

"Please be careful driving," Mayor Amy Chmielewski said at a recent Town Hall meeting. "Watch out for ... goblins!"

Here are some Halloween activities in and around Bel Air:

  • 10:15–11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29. Halloween Dance Party at the Bel Air Library. Dance to classic dance songs with a Halloween twist. Wear your dancing shoes or favorite costume.
  • 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30. Trick or treat in downtown Bel Air at businesses on Main and Bond streets. Look for an orange flyer in the window, and you'll know those businesses are participating.
  • 7:30–11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30. Legends Ball of Bel Air at the Bel Air Armory offers a costume contest and charity event to benefit children's literacy.
  • 11 a.m.–4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. Pink Pumpkin Patch fundraiser at Bel Air Armory Park. Local nonprofit VolunTeen is selling pink pumpkins that community members donated. The pumpkins will be on display, and a hot apple cider bar will be set up. Baskets will be raffled, with all proceeds going to Cancer LifeNet at the Kaufman Cancer Center, which helps cancer patients and their loved ones cope physically, financially, psychologically and emotionally.
  • 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. Halloween Skate in Abingdon. There will be trick or treating and a costume contest at Ice World. Get $4 off admission for wearing a costume, plus a coupon for a free skate rental on your next visit.
  • 1–4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. Trunk/Table or Treat in Forest Hill offers trick or treating at Rock the Spectrum. There's also a $10 open play session in the gym. Outside will feature vendors and a bounce house.
