Bel Air's Riley Cited As Star Student: Here’s Why

BEL AIR, MD — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Riley has dreamed about attending the U.S. Naval Academy for years. He attends C. Milton Wright High were he currently has a 4.6 GPA. He is a member of the high school baseball team and runs winter track. He also is a member of the Bel Air Police Explorer where he has obtained the rank of sergeant and is in charge of other members. He volunteers at as camp counselor at Beach Mount Christian Summer Camp. Riley is an outstanding athlete, scholar and just a super nice and talented kid. Riley has attended the U.S. Navy summer baseball camp and STEM camp at the U.S. Naval Academy. Riley has been selected to join the mid-shipmen this summer for a three-day session to learn about the Naval Academy, which he is super excited about. I nominate Riley for Maryland Star student because of is exceptional grades, including taking numerous honors classes, his athletic ability including becoming an outstanding baseball player, serving in police explorers and still having time to volunteer.
