Bel Air Children's Boutique Offers Organic Clothing, Books, Toys

BEL AIR, MD — A boutique nestled along Main Street in Bel Air offers organic children's clothing, books and toys, plus perinatal support events for area families.

A family-owned business, Little Haven on Main opened its doors in July 2024 under the guidance of owner Elliot Mattson.

"We opened Little Haven on Main with the goal of providing safe, quality, organic children’s clothes to the community that are ethically sourced and sustainable. We are also a perinatal support space and hold events for families, parents and the community to support our parents," Mattson told Patch.

So why is organic best for children's clothing?

"Organic children’s clothing because it is safe, long lasting, and especially good for newborns, toddlers and younger children to protect against some of the common skin reactions that occur in early childhood due to synthetic clothing, harsh dyes and use of pesticides," Mattson told Patch. "Our customers love that we take the time to source quality products that are especially safe for younger children. In our community, it is common for people to shop local, organic and conscientiously."

In addition to organic clothes, Little Haven on Main also offers Grimms wooden toys. Mattson also plans special events such as story time for older kids and homeschool markets where families can connect.

"These are Waldorf and Montessori play style inspired toys that are incredibly crafted, organic, ethically, sourced and free from toxic dyes," Mattson said.

Recent additions to the shop include wooden "build-your-own" dinosaurs with pieces that magnetically connect, along with crocheted stuffies that pairs with an in-store book or outfit.

Little Haven on Main can be found at 22 South Main St. in Bel Air. It's open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
