Busy Bee Boutique Opening In Armory Marketplace

BEL AIR, MD — A new boutique will open this weekend in the Armory Marketplace in downtown Bel Air.

Busy Bee Boutique will sell custom, handmade items, from t-shirts to tumblers to bath and body products.

Owner Alexzandrea Wood shifted careers during the coronavirus pandemic, after the dental practice where she had been an assistant shut down.

"Crafting was just a weekend hobby of mine," Wood said in a statement on her website. During the pandemic, she let her hobby take off.

"Everything was a disaster for us, as I’m sure it was for everyone at the beginning, Wood said. She and her fiance have two children, whose schools were closed for more than a year.

"My fiancé and I decided that being able to stay home with the kids was more important during this crazy time," Wood said, "so I decided to start my own small business and now we are here."

Busy Bee Boutique is at 37 N. Main St., Suite 101, Bel Air, MD 21014. Check out the products online.

A grand opening celebration is planned for Friday, March 25, and all who show up will be entered into a raffle. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
