Chemical Spill At Store Affects 2 Customers
Emergency officials reported a chemical spill Tuesday afternoon at the Giant store in Forest Hill that required 2 people to go to the ER.

FOREST HILL, MD — A chemical spill at the Giant grocery store near a checkout register Tuesday caused customers' eyes to burn and drew emergency officials to the business, including Hazmat.
The incident happened Nov. 18 around 1:24 p.m. at the Giant located at 1401 Rock Spring Road in Forest Hill. Two people were taken to the hospital for evaluation, Harford County officials reported. Customers had evacuated on their own before emergency officials arrived.
Firefighters from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, along with Hazmat technicians from the Harford County Special Operations Team, were able to determine the origin of the reported chemical leak. Also responding including volunteer firefighters from Fallston, Abingdon, Harford County EMS, Emergency Management and the sheriff's office.
