Pet owners can take advantage of free vaccines and affordable rates for microchipping, nail trims and more at a community vaccination clinic

FALLSTON, MD — A community pet vaccination clinic will be held Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fallston Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company.

The clinic will offer distemper and Bordetella for dogs, distemper for cats and rabies vaccines for dogs, cat and ferrets. Vaccines are $10 each and payment is by cash or a major credit card, organizers stated.

Hosted by the Humane Society of Harford County in partnership with the Harford County Health Department, the DAPPv canine and HCP feline distemper vaccines will be completely free of charge while supplies last courtesy of Petco Love.

“Parvovirus and distemper in dogs and panleukopenia in cats — the most prevalent deadly diseases affecting pets — are preventable with a simple vaccine,” said Amanda Hickman, HSHC’s executive director. “We urge community members to take advantage of this no-cost resource to ensure the health and wellness of all pets in our community.”

Pets also can be microchipped at the clinic for $25. Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care, LLC will be onsite offering $20 nail trims. Appointments are not required for that service.

Animals must be at least four months old to be vaccinated. To ensure the safety of everyone, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash with a properly fitted collar and cats and ferrets must be safely contained inside a carrier.

The Fallston Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company is located at 2201 Carrs Mill Rd. in Fallston.
