Coronavirus: Harford County Cases Increase Over Holiday Weekend
Harford County coronavirus cases increased, but still no deaths, according to the Maryland Health Department.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Harford County confirmed 31 more cases of the new coronavirus over the weekend as state numbers almost reach 9,000 cases. According to numbers released by the Maryland Department of Health Monday morning, Hardford has 142 confirmed cases and no deaths.
So far, the county is one of few with cases to have seen zero deaths. Of 23 Maryland counties with COVID-19 cases, 16 counties have had patients die. The state has had 262 deaths out of 8,936 cases and has begun releasing case number by zip code for areas with more than 7 cases.
In the past 24 hours, 711 more cases and 27 deaths were recorded statewide as many celebrated the Easter and Passover holidays.

Harford Health Department officials implored residents to stay home and observe the holidays with household members or using video chat with family outside of their household
"Your actions over these next few days may be the single most important factor in controlling coronavirus transmission for the remainder of the pandemic." the department said in a Saturday statement. "This year, what are typically times of joy have the potential to cause unintentional spread of virus and a new spike in disease."

In a weekly update on Friday, Harford County Executive Barry Glassman said that White house and federal officials have marked the Baltimore-Washington corridor a COVID-19 "emerging hotspot."
"Maryland cases overall are now estimated to peak around April 18 through early May, but keep in mind these estimates depend on many factors including how seriously people take social distancing," Glassman said in a statement.
