Collection Boxes Across The County For Socks, Gloves, Mittens, Hats During SOCKtober
Residents are encouraged to donate new socks, gloves, mittens and hats during SOCKtober. Collection boxes can be found across the county.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — New socks, mittens, gloves and hats are being collected throughout the month as part of Harford County's SOCKtober collection drive.
The Harford County government has teamed up with Harford County Public Library and We Cancerve, a foundation that creates giving opportunities for youth to support homeless, sick and foster children, to sponsor the annual “SOCKtober” collection drive. Donations of new socks, hats, mittens and gloves of all sizes will be distributed to local individuals and families experiencing homelessness, or are on the brink of homelessness, and to local veteran’s organizations.
Collection boxes can be found in county government buildings, including parks and recreation facilities, senior centers and all public libraries now through Oct. 31.

"As we approach the colder months of the year, everyday items like warm socks, gloves and hats can make a significant difference for those in need," said Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly. "I encourage you to consider donating these essential items to help the less fortunate in our community."
