Driver Points Gun After Crash, Prompting School Lockdowns: Police
A helicopter was called to assist in the search for a man suspected of pointing a gun at another driver on Route 543, police said.

BEL AIR, MD — Police said a man pulled a handgun on another driver after a crash in Bel Air on Friday afternoon, prompting a helicopter search and two school lockdowns.
Around 3 p.m., troopers were called to the 2400 block of Creswell Road, where two vehicles had crashed. One driver pointed a handgun at the other driver before running away and leaving his vehicle behind, according to Maryland State Police.
A Maryland State Police helicopter and deputies from the Harford County Sheriff's Office searched for the suspect, who was described as shirtless and wearing cargo shorts.

"Out of an abundance of caution, two nearby private schools were placed on temporary lockdown," police said in a statement Friday evening. "Troopers remained at the scene to assist with dismissal and ensure the safety of the students and others at the schools."
