Drop Off Unwanted, Unused Items At Harford County Community Collection Drive
Residents can drop off unwanted or unused items during the upcoming Community Collection drive in Bel Air, which includes paper shredding.
BEL AIR, MD — Residents who find themselves with items they no longer need or want can drop them off at the annual Community Collection drive being held Sept. 20 at Bel Air High School.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon and is hosted by the town of Bel Air, along with the Harford County government, Harford County Public Schools and the Bel Air Lions.
Residents can drop off one carload of items to be sorted for recycling, refurbishment or reuse. Items that can be donated include bicycles, books, cell phones, clothing, eyeglasses, hearing aids, home goods, shoes, sports equipment and textiles, according to event organizers.

Small appliances like air conditioning units, dehumidifiers and mini-refrigerators could be eligible for a rebate from BGE, paid per unit. Donors are limited to a maximum of four appliances and they must be valid residential electric customers with BGE – donors are required to show their current utility account number, event organizers stated.
In addition to collecting unwanted items, on-site shredding of documents will be available for residents, also.
