One man is in critical condition and a woman in stable condition after they were shot following a fight between the man and another person.

EDGEWOOD, MD — One person is in critical condition and another in stable condition after a shooting late Sunday night.

On July 6 at approximately 10:50 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 1600 block of Candlewood Court in Edgewood for a report of a shooting. Deputies found Malandra Respass, 24, and Daquan Futrell, 23, both with gunshot wounds. Deputies began life saving efforts and both victims were taken by ambulance to area hospitals. Respass was listed in stable condition and Futrell was listed in critical condition, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

During their investigation, HCSO detectives were able to determine that Futrell fought with another man and during the fight, an unknown individual pulled out a gun and shot both victims. While the motive remains under investigation, it is believed that all parties involved knew each other and the shooting was not random, the HCSO stated.
