ABINGDON, MD — Fireworks "cannot be ruled out" as the cause of a fire in Abingdon on the Fourth of July, according to investigators. Remnants of fireworks may have led to the blaze that damaged three sheds, officials said.

The owners of a shed in the 200 block of Maple Wreath Court discovered the fire before 11:30 p.m. on Monday, according to the fire marshal.

A reader of the Harford Fire Blog reported a "huge bang that shook all our windows" when the fire erupted. He also shared photos of the inferno and said one of the homes in the community, which is Laurel Woods, had been "setting off big ones all night."
