Fountain Green Swim Club Shooting Noise Came From Speaker: Sheriff
A teen was arrested after an event at the Fountain Green Swim Club, where authorities said they were called about a report of shots fired.

BEL AIR, MD — A teen was charged in connection with an assault at Fountain Green Swim Club, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, which discovered the altercation while investigating the sounds of gunshots at the location. No shots were fired, and no weapon was used or shown during the assault, officials said.
Around 9:15 p.m. on Monday night, deputies were called for a report of shots fired at the swim club in the 1000 block of Fountain Green Road. Investigators said they found no evidence of shots being fired at the location, where an event was happening at the pool.
Guardians were told Monday night to pick up their children who attended the event while authorities were investigating.

At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, officials said they determined what prompted the concern.
“Upon further investigation into this incident, it was determined an unknown individual played the sound of gunshots over a speaker, causing the false belief of a shooting,” the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “Deputies have confirmed that there were no shots fired, nor was any firearm observed at the event.”

During the investigation into the shots fired report, deputies said they were informed that a 15-year-old boy had assaulted a 13-year-old boy; as a result, the elder teen was charged with assault, officials said.
