Chilly Conditions Prompt Frost Advisory, Freeze Warning
The first frost of the season could be coming to central Maryland, according to the National Weather Service.
MARYLAND — Chilly temperatures in the forecast have prompted weather officials to expand freeze warnings and frost advisories around Maryland.
The first frost of the season could be coming to central Maryland Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, and the cold could damage outdoor plumbing that is unprotected.

"Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold," the National Weather Service warned. "To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing."
Temperatures as low as 29 degrees are expected in areas under the freeze warning, which applies to parts of north, central and north-central Maryland.
