Gas Leak At School Prompts Early Dismissal
Joppatowne Elementary School will dismiss early Thursday morning due to a gas leak that needs repaired.
JOPPA, MD — Joppatowne Elementary School will be dismissing at 11 a.m. after staff members detected the smell of gas when they arrived at the building Thursday morning.
According to the school district, BGE was called to the school immediately and determined the source of the odor was an outdoor gas leak.
In order to repair the leak, the heat at the building must be turned off, school officials said.
