Harford Community College Students Volunteer in the Community
Harford Community College theater program students celebrated the anniversary of the county's only full-service emergency homeless shelter.

Students enrolled in the Harford Community College Theater program assisted in a fundraiser to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Welcome One Shelter, Harford County’s only full-service emergency homeless shelter, on September 25 at Liberatore’s Restaurant in Bel Air.
Harford students provided improvisational interactions and photo opportunities as the main characters in The Wizard of Oz. Dr. Ben Fisler, associate professor, Visual, Performing and Applied Arts (VPAA) at Harford Community College and Robert Elliott, technical director for VPAA, coordinated volunteer students and helped get costumes and makeup for them from theatre stock. HCC Student participants included Ashley Kramer as The Cowardly Lion, Samantha Morton as Dorothy, and Justin Strittmatter as the Scarecrow. Harford students paired up with volunteers from Mountain Christian Church’s Young Adults to help at this event.
