Harford County Man Named Sarasota Deputy Police Chief
Stephen Moyer, a longtime Harford County resident and Maryland State Police officer, was recently hired by a municipal department on Florida's Gulf Coast.

Stephen Moyer, a Harford County native and longtime Maryland State Police officer, has been named the deputy chief of the Sarasota Police Department.
In an announcement on its website, the Florida city's police department introduced Moyer as its new deputy chief on June 12. He most recently served as director of security at the University of Maryland Medical Center, the announcement said.
Moyer, who grew up in Edgewood and attended Johns Hopkins University, is the son of former Harford County Sheriff Theodore Moyer, who passed away in 2012, the release stated.
He also held a position with Batelle on Aberdeen Proving Ground, the release stated.
